Washington Township council shares event schedule, reminds residents to register dogs

At its June 10 meeting, the Washington Township Council reported a slate of upcoming community events and reminded residents that all township dogs must be registered and vaccinated for 2026.

Council President Del Borrello congratulated the township lacrosse team, announced a June 13 grand opening for K9 Resorts and noted the Wine and BBQ Festival set for June 13–14. Council member Mr. Yerkes said the next community shred event is scheduled for Oct. 24, 2026, and read a thank-you memo from Barbara Moore, Washington Lake Park event coordinator, about recent volunteer support. Mr. Harris encouraged residents to visit Washington Lake Park and highlighted a free Pilates class every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Council member Mr. Rooney urged attendance at the Motown event on June 21, which Mr. Yerkes said will feature the Soul Cruisers.

Del Borrello reminded residents that “all dogs in the township are required to be registered and vaccinated” for 2026 and directed residents to the Clerk’s office for registration. Gianna Caveng, identified as the high-school liaison, highlighted year-end events at Washington Township High School. Mr. Brown noted upcoming "Cops and Bobbers" events and thanked Public Works for their work on the recent shred event. Several council members reported no items.

Council President Del Borrello opened the meeting to public participation on a motion by Ms. Pasqualone, seconded by Mr. Harris; the motion passed with all in favor. No members of the public addressed the council. Ms. Pasqualone moved to close public participation, Mr. Harris seconded, and the council voted to close. The meeting was adjourned on a motion by Ms. Pasqualone, seconded by Mr. Brown; the vote was unanimous and the meeting ended at 6:34 p.m. The council set its next meeting for June 24, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
