Mountain View Cemetery Commission elects officers, approves minutes and treasurer's report

Wayne Hall, chair of the Mountain View Cemetery Commission, opened the March 19, 2026 meeting and was re-elected president after a nomination by Diane Jackson and a second from Arlene Batschelet.
Diane Jackson was elected treasurer after a nomination from Arlene Batschelet and a second from Sharon Macedo; Sue (Susan) James was elected secretary following a nomination by Diane Jackson and a second from Arlene Batschelet. Each nomination was put to the commission and recorded as "passed." The commission also approved the minutes of the Sept. 24, 2025 meeting on a motion by Diane Jackson, seconded by Arlene Batschelet.
Jackson presented the treasurer's report showing balances of $295.88 in checking, $9,515.93 in savings and a CD of $19,907.67, for a total closing balance of $29,719.48; the only recent expense noted was $38.80 for postage. On a motion from Sue James, seconded by Arlene Batschelet, members voted to accept the treasurer's report. Commissioners discussed that the price of mowing will likely increase in 2026, which may affect the commission's budget.
The commission set its next meeting for April 8 at 6 p.m. and adjourned after a motion from Diane Jackson, seconded by Sharon Macedo.
