Superintendent highlights top elementary rankings and district community efforts

"We have five elementary schools that are blue this year," the superintendent said, and praised the district's staff and community for support.
The superintendent also highlighted other recognitions and community efforts: district schools are collecting hurricane-relief supplies through Oct. 31, and the district's third-year collaboration with Shriners Hospital aims to collect Hot Wheels toys for children in need. The superintendent encouraged families and staff to bring donations to schools or to drop them at the district office.
Board members were invited to join a brief photo recognition with principals and honored staff; no formal board action was taken on the recognitions beyond the presentation.
