Kenmore names pro and con committees for Prop. 1; appointments approved 6–1
Summary

The council appointed members to the pro and con committees for Proposition 1 on July 20, approving the slates of three appointees for each side by a 6–1 vote.
Staff explained the application timeline: the council opened committee applications the day after adopting the ordinance and received 22 applicants; applications closed July 6. Clerk Scott Passi described a ranked‑choice tabulation of council ballots that produced the top three candidates for each committee.
By motion and second, the council approved appointments naming Tracy Banashinsky, Edward LaSalle and Juliana Pooley to the pro committee; and John Hendrickson, Dave Postetter and Lori Sperry to the con committee. The roll call vote was 6–1; one council member voted no. Staff will follow up with appointees to collect required committee information and submit the official committee forms to King County by the August 4 deadline.
