The West Geauga Local School District board approved a slate of personnel actions Monday, including administrative appointments and certified‑staff hires for the 2026–27 school year.
Presenter (Speaker 11) introduced Tara Baron, who will assume the district’s human‑resources coordinator role; the introducer said Baron has a business degree and an education degree, local experience in human resources and is a Kenston parent. The board welcomed her appointment and approved the related administrative contract resolution by roll call.
Presenter (Speaker 8) introduced Rachel Fender as an intervention specialist at Lindsay Elementary. Fender holds dual licensure in general and special education and a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certificate, the presenter said; the board approved the certified‑staff appointment by roll call.
Board members also approved a series of routine personnel resolutions on administrative contracts, raises for psychologists and administrators, classified long‑term substitute assignments, and supplemental contracts for extracurricular roles. Several members praised specific hires and coaches in roll‑call discussion.
The district will finalize start dates, contract language and stipend levels in personnel files and submit those records to the board office as required.
