Silver Creek Township supervisors voted June 16 to allow Xcel Energy temporary driveway access onto 148th Street through Oct. 1, 2026, with conditions that Xcel remove the driveway and repair any road damage.
Chairman Mike Helman moved to approve the permit; Vice Chair Brandon Geyen seconded and the motion carried 3-0. Township maintenance had reviewed the request and told supervisors it had no objections, and the board required a pre-construction meeting between Xcel and township personnel before work begins.
The permit authorizes temporary access for construction work only; Xcel must restore the driveway to its original condition and is responsible for repairing any township road damage that results from the use. The board recorded the motion as carried unanimously.
The item was noted during routine business and no additional public comment or amendments were recorded. The board did not set a specific start date; the time-limited authorization expires Oct. 1, 2026.
