Johann Massmann has accepted the position of Clerk-Treasurer for Silver Creek Township and has begun work, the board recorded at its Feb. 17 meeting.
The board voted 5-0 to add Johann Massmann to the township bank account, remove Nancy B. from account access, and authorize Massmann to obtain a township credit card in accordance with the employee handbook. The board also approved a two-week in-person training period from the interim clerk followed by phone support.
Separately, supervisors discussed that the township’s CTAS accounting books for 2024 and 2025 remain open and that some reports do not match audit records. The board considered hiring a township accountant to close out the years; the accountant rate mentioned was approximately $350 per hour. Massmann will review the CTAS books and recommend next steps at the next meeting.
The board also approved claims and payroll disbursements: claims totaling $15,603.20 and payroll claims totaling $8,561.27; audited check numbers included 19781, 19784, 19788 and 19791.
