Township orders $47,825 mower, seeks bids for Baker Ave rebuild and approves $16,000 for apron work

Maintenance presented quotes from Trueman Welters and the board approved purchasing a Schulte XH1500 series 5 mower for $47,825.44 (motion by Vice Chair Brandon Geyen, second by Supervisor Andy Christensen, motion carried 3-0). The minutes show the purchase is intended to support township road and grounds maintenance.
On road projects, maintenance recommended issuing bids now for the Baker Avenue rebuild so contractor quotes will be available before the end of February; the board authorized staff to solicit those bids. Separately, the board approved up to $16,000 to add aprons on township gravel roads where Wright County will resurface County Road 39 in 2026; Supervisor Christensen moved and Vice Chair Geyen seconded, motion carried 3-0. The apron work is intended to reduce gravel washing onto County Road 39 after the county resurfacing.
The board’s decisions were unanimous and are expected to inform contractor selection and a broader 2026 roadwork plan once bids are returned and a contractor is selected.
