Commission President Logan Wallace convened the meeting and the Board of Equalization heard City Assessor Dane Larsen’s presentation of the 2026 valuations. Larsen reported the city’s True and Full value at $139,181,140, a net increase of $4,242,500 from 2025, and reported a Taxable value of $6,607,889 (a net increase of $215,964 from 2025). Net taxable value was listed at $6,433,463. Larsen also reported eight Homestead Credit applications, 18 Disabled Veteran Credits and three property tax exemptions for churches, schools and health-care or nonprofit entities.
Members of the public asked questions about valuation changes and about a Hill Top Legacy Lodge 10-year Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) program that is expiring; those concerns were discussed with Larsen during the presentation. Commissioner Chris Fenstermaker moved to approve the 2026 values, applications and exemptions as presented. Commissioner Greg Nordsven seconded the motion and the Board approved the values on a roll call vote.
The board formally adjourned its session at 5:29 p.m. The valuation figures and credit counts approved at the Board of Equalization will be used for the city’s 2026 tax work. The Commission returned to the regular meeting and proceeded to other agenda items.
