Lake Charles Police announce National Night Out Aug. 4 at event center

Sergeant Amon said the family-focused evening will include an outdoor car show and indoor family activities; he said there will be food provided by roughly six cook-off teams. "So come out, bring your family, invite your neighbors, and have a good time," Sergeant Amon said.
Officials emphasized the event's community-policing purpose: to let residents meet officers, see department divisions and speak directly with staff. The announcement repeated the time and place and invited the public to attend.
