The Buchanan County Board of Supervisors voted July 13 to accept an $11,008.93 low bid from Office Towne to upgrade audio and video equipment in the board chambers and to approve a $31,732.79 quote from CDWG for a network switch.
IT Director Jason Vandenburg presented two bids for the chamber upgrade and the network-switch quote. On motions by Supervisor John Kurtz, seconded by Supervisor Keith Wieland, the board accepted the Office Towne bid for the audio/video work and approved the CDWG quote for the switch.
Auditor Kris Wilgenbusch told the board there is $190,317.99 remaining in ARPA funds but that the county has already allocated ARPA funds to projects; Wilgenbusch said she needs time to review remaining allocations before authorizing further ARPA spending. The board directed that the switch upgrade be paid from ARPA funds if they are available; if not, the cost will be paid from capital projects. Wilgenbusch will bring a resolution to the board to use ARPA funds if she confirms they are available.
The board voted unanimously on both motions. The approved figures recorded in the meeting minutes are $11,008.93 for the audio/video upgrade and $31,732.79 for the network switch. Further action — a resolution to authorize ARPA spending — is required before ARPA funds are used for the switch upgrade.
