Riverside Township Committee adopts $4.1 million bond for sewerage treatment plant improvements

The ordinance, read into the record by Mayor Haman, is titled, "Bond Ordinance Providing for the Township of Riverside, County of Burlington, New Jersey's Allocable Share of Certain Sewerage Treatment Plant Improvements of the Riverside Sewerage Authority, By and In the Township of Riverside; Appropriating the Sum of $4,100,000 Therefor; Authorizing the Issuance of Bonds or Bond Anticipation Notes of the Township in the Aggregate Principal Amount of Up to $4,100,000; Making Certain Determinations and Covenants; and Authorizing Certain Related Actions in Connection with the Foregoing." The measure was before the committee on its second and final reading.
Mayor Haman opened the public portion for the ordinance, but no members of the public spoke. "Hearing nothing from the public," the committee moved to close the public portion.
Mr. Kimble moved to adopt the ordinance and Ms. Leith seconded. On a roll-call vote the ordinance passed unanimously: Mses. Horn and Leith and Messrs. Kimble, Marter and Haman voted yes. Ms. Horn participated via telephone and was recorded as voting in favor.
The ordinance authorizes the township to appropriate $4.1 million and to issue bonds or bond anticipation notes to finance Riverside's share of improvements at the regional sewerage treatment facility operated by the Riverside Sewerage Authority.
