Denison council holds Q&A with two candidates; appointment set for July 21

The Denison City Council held a question-and-answer session July 7 with the two residents who filed letters of interest for an at-large council vacancy, and the council said it will make the appointment at its July 21 meeting.
Pam Soseman, who identified herself as a former Denison mayor and said she has more than 40 years of community-service experience, told the council she is interested in the seat because she is familiar with council duties and is concerned about housing. "One of her main concerns is housing," Soseman said.
Eric Jones, a high school teacher and coach, told the council his interest is tied in part to family experience in local government and a desire to prioritize economic development and housing. "Economic development and housing as a priority within the community," Jones said.
City Clerk Jodie Flaherty told the council the At-Large appointment will be made at the July 21, 2026 meeting and that no final decision would be made that night. The council did not vote on the vacancy at the July 7 meeting.
