Arun Delti, a Franklin Township resident and coordinator with Rivers of the World, addressed the commission during public comment on July 20 and asked the Environmental Commission to consider partnering with his group's stream-cleanup and education work at the 6‑Mile Run trail.
"I've been a resident, for 17 years, Franklin Township," Delti told commissioners and said Rivers of the World runs cleanups that involve elementary, middle and high‑school volunteers and that founding members plan to visit the local effort on or about July 31–Aug. 1. He asked whether the commission could help publicize the group and send members to observe and offer feedback. Staff said the commission runs a separate stream-cleanup in April and welcomed the additional volunteer support. "When you get more details about that, send it forward," staff said, adding that commission members would be welcome at future cleanups.
Delti described outreach partnerships with the United Nations' World Water Day programming and noted the group's interest in connecting with local 4‑H and school green teams. Commissioners suggested contacting the county 4‑H agent and agreed to add Delti to the commission's volunteer list.
