The motion carried after a voice vote in which those present said “aye.” Later in the meeting commissioners reviewed the proposed FY26‑27 budget. The budget officer had previously submitted a summary into the record and posted the full packet online; Commissioner (speaker 5) moved to approve the FY26‑27 budget as presented. Separately, the board discussed salary adjustments and moved that the salary changes take effect on August 9; the motion to adopt the FY26‑27 budget with the salary schedule as stated was seconded and carried.
Commissioners asked staff to correct minor clerical reading errors in the record (one member pointed out a transcribed figure for the land and environment line) and confirmed that increases in projected revenue exceed the proposed expenditure increases for the current amendment.
The actions taken were procedural approvals to adopt the annual budget, implement salary adjustments on the date specified, and amend the preceding fiscal year’s appropriations to reflect newly recognized revenues and planned capital expenditures.
