Goddard approves furniture, IT and camera purchases for new public works facility

The Goddard City Council authorized procurement of furniture, IT services and cameras/access control for the city’s new public works facility during the April 7 meeting.
Public Works Director Jason Cauley presented bid results: Pure Workplace Solutions for furniture at $80,494.67; Imagine IT Solutions for IT services at $40,632.68; and LT Solutions for cameras and access control at $29,735.00. Cauley noted all items exceeded staff approval levels and required council authorization. City Administrator Craig Crossette told the council roughly two-thirds of the project costs represent labor rather than materials and said the project is tracking well under budget, with a conservative estimate that the city will finish the project about $600,000 under budget.
Councilmember Krista Hall moved to authorize the procurements as presented; Councilmember Corey Dir seconded. The motion carried on a roll call vote, 5-0.
Staff indicated bids were solicited from multiple vendors; Midwest First Solutions was contacted but did not deliver a timely bid. The council’s authorization allows staff to proceed with contracted purchases for the new facility.
