At its June meeting the Village of North Chevy Chase handled consent and routine items including permit approvals, contract renewal and event planning.
The Village Manager reported fast-track approvals for fences at 8905 Montgomery Ave and 3605 Inverness Drive. The council approved a permit for resurfacing an asphalt driveway at 8905 Montgomery Ave and agreed that similar resurfacing projects could qualify for fast-track review in the future. Property owners seeking to convert a ground-level porch to an elevated deck at 3714 Stewart Driveway discussed plans; the council instructed staff to issue a Village permit after a County permit is obtained.
The council unanimously approved the second of three one-year extension options with Compost Crew to continue offering voluntary compost services to residents who subscribe. For the July 4 event, the council decided donations collected will go to the Chevy Chase Fire Department and that the Village will cover event expenditures; staff were asked to add volunteer sign-up roles for setup, cleanup and trash monitoring.
