County board adopts updates to air pollution control regulations

Lancaster County staff brought amendments to the Lincoln-Lancaster County Air Pollution Control Program to the board July 21 and commissioners approved the changes by roll call.
Gary Bergstrom, air quality section supervisor with the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department, told the board the revisions mostly ensure consistency with Nebraska Department of Water, Energy and Environment air-quality rules and add provisions for terminating permits where equipment has been removed or decommissioned. He said staff had taken the proposals to the air pollution control advisory board and to the Board of Health, and noted the city council had already approved similar changes.
Commissioners moved and seconded the resolution to adopt the amendments; the motion carried unanimously.
