City counsel told the Aneta City Council that the court has appointed Mr. Prince as special administrator in a probate proceeding related to property tied to Joe Reed leases, which authorizes the city to conduct a public sale.
"We had Mr. Prince on behalf of the City appointed as what's called a special administrator in the probate proceeding," counsel said, adding that the court-approved appointment allows the City to conduct a public sale to convey the property, helps with title issues, and permits the City to take its expenses and then place remaining funds into the court. Counsel said the property was abandoned and that the City has already notified the heir, who had not responded.
Counsel said the sale is scheduled for the 15th and characterized the court appointment as helpful for resolving title problems related to the leases and moving the matter toward conclusion.
