Curtis said she brings 16 years of experience in curriculum design, secondary teaching and building systems that advance equity and excellence. “I deeply believe that sustainable improvement happens when systems are aligned and when the people closest to students feel supported, valued, and empowered,” she said. Curtis described priorities that include aligning instruction to high standards and elevating teacher and student voice.
The board did not take a formal vote on the introduction; the presentation concluded with brief applause and a return to the regular agenda.
The introduction followed board announcements and proclamations scheduled on the meeting agenda.
