Orange County Schools board holds special meeting, enters closed session on student matter and approves consent agenda

Miss Doyle called a special called meeting of the Orange County Schools Board of Education and a motion to enter closed session was made and seconded.

The board moved into closed session to consult with counsel and to consider confidential personnel and student information. "Just wanted to note that we did have, a student item addressed in closed session," attorney Neil Veil said for the record, asking that the minutes reflect the board went into closed session "pursuant to g s 1 43 3 18 11 a 1, a 3, a 5, and a 6 to consult with the attorney to preserve the attorney client privilege to consider confidential personnel matters, and to prevent the disclosure of personnel and student information that is confidential under g s 1 15 c 3 19, g s 1 15 c 4 0 2, and u 20 USC 12 32 g."

After the closed session the board returned to open session. The presiding member ran the roll-call-style votes. The board adopted the meeting agenda and approved the consent agenda; no consent items were pulled for separate discussion. Recorded votes were affirmative on the motions as read on the record.

With no further items, a motion to adjourn was made and seconded; the board voted in the affirmative and the presiding member declared the meeting adjourned.
