Lisa, who said she has started working more officially with the Marion County Transit Authority, updated the council April 14 on 2025 ridership and service.
She told the council the transit system provided more than 20,000 community rides in 2025 and over 15,000 paratransit trips, including dialysis and opioid-response trips. She added that veterans ride free and that Fairmont State students and staff use the service.
Lisa said the service generated personal savings and local economic benefits; she offered printed flyers and encouraged council members and residents to review more detailed information outside the meeting.
The council did not take action during the meeting but received the petitioner’s update during the citizens’ petitions portion of the agenda.
