Hainesport Township Board of Education elects Cardonick president, reappoints vendors and adopts 2023 schedule

The Hainesport Township Board of Education held its reorganization meeting Jan. 5, 2023, administering the oath of office to three newly elected board members and electing board officers before approving a slate of district professionals and its calendar for the year.
Board Secretary Robert Kraft called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. and administered the oath to Jason Cardonick, Bianca Cuniglio and Jeffrey Duda, each elected to three-year terms. Principal Ramon Santiago presented the Student Safety Data Report for Period 1 for the board’s information.
During officer elections, board member Keith Peacock nominated Jason Cardonick for president; Jeffrey Duda seconded the nomination. The board polled and elected Jason Cardonick as president. Cardonick then opened nominations for vice president; Larry Brandolph nominated Keith Peacock and Duda seconded. The board elected Keith Peacock as vice president.
The board voted to readopt all current written curriculum and instructional materials through the January 2023 reorganization meeting and to appoint district professionals and vendors for the year. The list of approved providers recorded in the minutes includes Adams, Gutierrez & Lattiboudere, LLC (attorney), New Road Construction Management Co., Inc. (construction manager of record), Haines & Haines/T.C. Irons Agency (insurance agent), Holt McNally & Associates Inc. (auditor), Brown & Brown Benefit Advisors (health benefits broker), and others listed in the minutes. The board also designated Investors Bank as an official depository with the board president and treasurer named as signatories.
For public notices and legal advertising the board designated the Burlington County Times and the Courier Post as the district’s official newspapers. The board adopted its regular meeting schedule for 2023, with public sessions listed through Dec. 12, 2023, and designated delegates and alternates to the New Jersey School Boards Association and the Burlington County School Boards Association.
Committee appointments were set for Student Services/Community Relations, Finance/Facilities/Technology and Human Resources. The board named Jeffrey Duda as the Hainesport Education Foundation representative and Jason Cardonick as the alternate. No members of the public spoke during the meeting’s public comment periods.
The board noted upcoming dates including a Jan. 16 observance for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (schools closed) and a Jan. 24 public board meeting, then adjourned at 7:29 p.m. No executive session was held.
