Elkins council approves budget revision, fire department electrical work, NEA grant support and TIF fund setup

The council then approved Resolution 17-80, authorizing an expenditure from the building and maintenance account for electrical improvements at the fire department. The resolution was moved and carried by voice vote.
Council also passed Resolution 17-81, pledging support for a National Endowment for the Arts grant application by the Elbrick Playhouse and the Augusta Heritage Center. The council offered unanimous voice approval.
Finally, Resolution 17-82 authorized the treasurer to establish a fund and open a bank account to receive TIF district revenues. Treasurer Miss Junie told the council the first TIF check received from the county totaled $5,851.70 and said she preferred Mountain Valley Bank because of its interest offerings; the council approved the resolution by voice vote.
