Virginia Municipal League presents essay award to local middle-school student at Appomattox council meeting

Rob Bullington, director of communications for the Virginia Municipal League, presented a certificate and gift card to Elijah Sugg, a student at Apple Counties Middle School and the Region 4 winner of the VML essay contest. Bullington described the contest and congratulated Elijah for his creative essay and invited attendees to read the published essays in the VML magazine.
Bullington also said VML will issue an updated handbook for council members and mayors in the coming weeks and offered to provide electronic copies to council. Council members thanked Bullington and praised the student and the town’s involvement in the contest.
