Bernalillo adopts $74.1 million infrastructure plan that lists wastewater, police station and water projects

The Bernalillo Governing Body on June 8 adopted Resolution 06/08/2026 to approve the Town’s FY 2028–2032 Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan (ICIP).
Presenter Marisella Hernandez introduced the ICIP, which the resolution describes as a working document to guide multi‑year capital planning and maximize use of available resources. The attached project list included estimated costs totaling $74,095,000.
Major projects and estimated costs listed in the plan include: Wastewater Treatment Plant improvements ($20,000,000); Phased Police Station ($10,000,000); Phased Molino Building Rehabilitation ($10,000,000); Energy efficiency for buildings ($8,000,000); Swimming Pool Replacement ($7,500,000); Phased Parks improvements ($4,000,000); Roosevelt Multi‑Purpose Campus ($3,550,000); Trail system improvements ($3,000,000); Bernalillo Water System improvements ($2,500,000); and several smaller projects and planning items.
The council adopted the ICIP by roll call. The plan is intended to guide capital priorities and does not itself authorize specific construction contracts; individual projects will require separate budgeting and approvals.
What’s next: projects listed in the ICIP will be prioritized during future budget cycles and when pursuing capital outlay or grant funding.
