"Anything to do with that front entrance, that ramp, the handicap parking and parking lot" could be eligible under the program, the committee member said, but they cautioned that certain work requires "clearance" from the city or state and that some grant rules constrain what floors or scope the funds will cover.
Members also discussed HVAC and electrical work. Committee member said the HVAC contractor has not provided a schedule or change order for the electrical component yet; board members asked staff to pursue firm timing and to coordinate any required federal or state reviews before committing funds. The board noted the municipal energy resiliency grant may include some ADA money, but participants described available amounts and eligible uses as uncertain and dependent on grant rules.
The Selectboard also flagged follow-up tasks: staff will check the specific grant documents, confirm which state or federal department would administer CDBG funds for the town-hall work, and determine whether bathroom upgrades can be matched to the existing energy-resiliency plan. No formal award or contract was finalized at the meeting.
