The clerk told the board she is following county, state and federal signage rules and that the town code lacks specific guidance about lobby or window postings; she asked for a legal opinion from the town attorney. “The perspective is following the law, and I really would prefer to get the legal opinion from our town attorney,” the clerk said.
Several board members said the existing bulletin board is not prominent and suggested relocating or enlarging it, or installing a permanent digital display to publicize town events. The board agreed to seek the town attorney’s written opinion and directed staff to assess more visible locations in the lobby and the possibility of improved public display options.
No formal policy change was adopted; the matter will be revisited after the town attorney’s opinion and a staff assessment of bulletin‑board options.
