Wallington library trustees approve April minutes and bills, accept director's report and decline Bank of America purchasing card

The Veterans Memorial Library Board of Trustees met May 19, 2026, in Wallington, N.J., with the meeting called to order at 5:34 p.m. Trustee Bucaro moved to approve the April 28 minutes; Trustee Graham seconded and the board approved the minutes (5 yes, 1 absent). The public portion recorded no attendees.

The board approved the list of bills after Trustee DiBernardo moved and Trustee Preinfalk seconded the motion; the vote was recorded as 5 yes, 1 absent. The minutes note receipt of a $250 donation and thank-you card from the McManus family in memory of Danielle McManus.

In the director's report, trustees were told a meeting with vendor Library Market is scheduled for May 26 to discuss a new library calendar and program-registration database; the director reported the vendor quoted a $2,000 installation fee and a $1,500 annual subscription. The director also reported that a Cat Cafe event drew strong participation; members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America volunteered at a library cooking program; second-grade students from Jefferson School visited the library for tours and card sign-up; and a walking book club called "Cardio & Cliffhangers" is planned to launch in July. The Crochet program concluded for the season and will resume in the fall. The Carole King Tribute program recorded attendance of 26 patrons.

Trustee Graham moved to accept the director's report; Trustee Bucaro seconded and the motion carried (vote not individually recorded in the minutes). Under old business the board noted that Bank of America is no longer involved with the Purchasing Card program and, as a result, will not pursue applying for the card. Trustee Bucaro moved to adjourn and Trustee Graham seconded; the meeting adjourned at 6:10 p.m.
