Wandren said Love, Inc. is faith-based, not church-run, and coordinates a range of services including utility-assistance to prevent water shutoffs, clothing and baby supplies, car-seat distribution and training, and coordination with a dental van. She told the council that in 2025 Love, Inc. had 1,162 walk-ins and served about 3,700 people; she said 65% of clients fell below the federal poverty guideline for a single person ($15,060).
Wandren asked the council to help publicize volunteer opportunities and to consider flexibility for individuals who need more assistance in exceptional circumstances. Council members praised the organization's work and noted the city includes information about Love, Inc. in its newsletter and on shutoff notices to help residents find support.
Wandren also listed two fundraisers that sustain the nonprofit: a golf tournament in May and a gala in October, and provided contact information and web addresses for volunteers and donations.
