He said the purchase is a sole‑source procurement and recommended approval of the $133,044.72 contract.
Councilman Moody asked for clarification about "camera connectors, cables to pull, 3rd party camera feeds" and pressed on security and public engagement; he said he would vote against the item in committee pending more vendor detail and invited Samsara representatives to the governing‑body meeting. The committee recommended approval, with Councilman Moody recorded voting no.
Staff said the purchase will support driver coaching, incident review and fleet diagnostics; additional vendor detail and public questions will be addressed at the council meeting.
