Public hearing for 225 Robinson adjourned; board asks applicant for long‑form EAF

The East Fishkill Planning Board opened the advertised public hearing for 225 Robinson but the applicant was not present; the chair said the applicant requested an adjournment. Resident David Melendez asked a yes‑or‑no question: "Will the board require a full environmental assessment form rather than the short form?"
Planning staff member Michelle replied that the board, as lead agency, can request a long‑form EAF if it needs additional information to determine whether significant adverse environmental impacts are likely. Michelle said a long form would provide more detail on "water resources, the aquifer" and that "it's not a huge lift for the applicant to do a few additional things to put into the long form." Based on that recommendation, the chair said the board will ask for the long form.
Resident Steve Hoffman addressed the board in public comment about keeping the "big picture" in mind for town planning and noted details in the proposal including the applicant requesting storage for about "50 commercial vehicles" and an estimated "189 trips per day" between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m., six days a week. The chair adjourned the hearing to the board’s August 18 meeting.
The board asked the applicant to sign in at the podium when present and to return to answer any outstanding questions; staff will expect a long‑form EAF addressing water resource concerns before further substantive review.
