Tim said the city’s vehicles are provided through county programs and that vehicle purchase would be a separate capital expense; he noted the fleet typically cycles every eight years and that losing Smart funding would strain the city’s budget for staffing and upkeep.
Council members discussed local options if the bond measure fails and emphasized the need for public education and potential local mitigation. The council did not adopt a specific mitigation plan at this meeting.
