The Mesilla Board of Trustees approved business license 1481 on April 6, 2026, allowing entrepreneur Jonathan Sepp to open a storefront called Hidden Gems at 2290 Calle De Parian.
Staff presented the application and packet materials, including a lease, tax ID and a floor plan. Sepp, who identified himself to the board as the applicant and representative of Hidden Gems of Mesilla, said the boutique will focus on trading cards, collectibles and hobby items and that local enthusiasts had expressed excitement about the project: “I started a discord of community members in this niche hobby world…there is so much excitement bubbling up,” he said.
Commissioners asked whether trading cards and collectible retail are consistent with the historic commercial zone and whether parking would be available for employees and patrons. Staff said the landlord had assigned parking for the business and that the application included the required documentation. The board voted to approve the license 4–0.
Next steps: Sepp may proceed with business set‑up and any required tenant improvements in coordination with the landlord and municipal staff.
