Council greenlights beautification roof project pending indemnity contract

Councilors confirmed that the bid for a Department of Commerce beautification-funded roof replacement on property owned by Boulder Rocks LLC was awarded to Alpine House Services LLC, but staff said work cannot begin until an indemnity contract protecting the city is reviewed.
City Clerk/Treasurer Rosemary Perna said the bid had been awarded to Alpine House Services LLC and that City Attorney Ed Guza needs to review a contract between Boulder Rocks LLC and Alpine House Services that indemnifies the city. Perna said an attorney named Landers was preparing the contract.
Councilor Drew Dawson emphasized that the project is part of the Montana Main Street beautification grant and that the work benefits the downtown corridor. Council took no further action beyond acknowledging the award and directing completion and review of contractual protections before contractors begin work.
Staff follow-up will include providing the council with the indemnity contract for review and ensuring any grant conditions are satisfied prior to construction.
