Boulder adopts Community Heart and Soul resolution and commits $2,000 match

The Boulder City Council unanimously adopted Resolution 2025-01 on Feb. 18 to participate in the Community Heart and Soul program and to provide a $2,000 city match in the next fiscal year.
Rochelle Hesford, executive director of Southwest Montana Youth Partners, outlined $30,000 in grant resources and said her organization would contribute a $10,000 match. Hesford also noted that Montana Legislator Marta Bertoglio donated $1,000 toward the match. Dawson described the program’s purpose as engaging citizens in what they would like their community to "look like" going forward; Planning Board President LaDana Hintz said the program is the next step in ongoing efforts to involve the public in planning and community goals.
Dawson moved to adopt Resolution 2025-01; Taylor seconded. The motion carried with three aye votes. The resolution commits the city to participate in outreach and planning activities funded largely by the grant and partner match; the city’s $2,000 contribution is planned in the next fiscal year.
