Council accepts pay application for Phase 1 and authorizes bidding for Phase 2 of Boulder water project

Eric Blanksma of engineering firm Morrison-Maierle presented Pay Application #2 for piping work performed by Karnath Contracting at the well houses and asked the Council to approve payment. Mike Taylor moved to accept the pay application; Tim Graff seconded and the motion carried 4-0.
Blanksma also requested authority to bid Phase 2, which includes construction of a new water tank and repairs to existing tanks. He noted contractor schedules are booked far in advance and proposed an August 28 bid opening so the City can secure work for summer 2026. City Administrator Brian Bullock emphasized the importance of getting on contractor schedules to keep the project timeline. The Council authorized advertising the Phase 2 bid by voice vote (4-0).
The Council did not specify award dates; staff and the engineering consultant will proceed with the procurement timeline.
