The Cresco City Council adopted formal plans and specifications for the 2026 Beetle Park train painting project and adjusted the bidding schedule to allow more time for submissions.
Administration told the council that bids will now be taken on the 5th and a special meeting will be held on August 10 to accept the low bid. "We're now gonna take the bids on the 5th instead of today, and then we're gonna have a special meeting on August 10 to hopefully accept the bid," administration said. The council approved a resolution to change the bid deadline and later approved a resolution adopting the plans, specifications, form of contract and estimate of costs for the painting project.
A public hearing on the project drew no written or verbal objections, administration reported, and the hearing was closed. Councilors said the schedule change was intended to give council members time to review bidders' local work and visit sites if desired.
The measures move the painting project formally into the procurement phase. The council set a special meeting date to consider and accept the low bidder after the extended submission period.
