Rainier Foothills Wellness Foundation reports growth in school mental‑health services and steady senior meal program

Tammy Verhus, introduced by the clerk as the interim executive director of the Rainier Foothills Wellness Foundation, updated the Eden Plus City Council on the foundation’s school-based mental-health program and senior hot-meal deliveries.
Verhus said the foundation has served a total of 82 students through its mental-health program: 62 at Enumclaw High School, nine at Enumclaw Middle School and 11 at Thunder Mountain. She noted six Enumclaw High School students had graduated from therapy. Verhus cited an improvement in a behavioral-intervention metric between 2025 and 2026 and said average GPA showed a slight increase of about 1.25%.
On senior services, Verhus said the foundation currently serves roughly 66 seniors (with 80+ served year to date), delivers six meals weekly via three deliveries, prepares about 400 meals from scratch each week, and relies on about 87 volunteers to shop, prep, cook and deliver meals. She thanked the council for past support and invited council members to reach out to foundation staff with questions.
