Council approves $15,000 amendment to Chamber agreement for Fourth of July parade security

Parks Director Lina Hicks said the resolution would allocate the $15,000 previously authorized by council as follows: $8,500 for parade barriers to line the route, $2,500 to cover overtime compensation for six additional city staff, and $4,000 to the Chamber to hire security and event staff. "The funds have already been authorized by council. This would just kind of break it up of how we're going to spend it," Hicks said.
Council moved and seconded the resolution and approved it by voice vote during the meeting. No individual roll‑call votes were recorded in the transcript.
The parks department will implement the allocations for parade perimeter barriers, staffing overtime and Chamber contracting to ensure event security for the July 4 celebration.
