Oneida County Highway Commissioner Ben Rich told the Public Works Committee on July 9 that corporation counsel is preparing an ordinance to allow a launch fee at the Sand Lake boat landing.
Katie Bauknecht, Sugar Camp Town Chair, said she had emailed information about the recreational facilities assistance program to county staff. Rich said he had consulted Mike McCarthy of Inflow Systems, who recommended against installing a cash-drop box at the landing; Rich estimated any hardware would cost only a few hundred dollars.
No ordinance was adopted at the meeting; members directed staff to continue working with counsel and to review funding and operational details before bringing a draft ordinance back to the committee.
