Planning Board cancels July 20 public hearing on proposed zoning changes

Chairman Joe Brodbine called the Town of Chesterfield Planning Board to order at 4:35 p.m. on July 13 and said the board had received comments from the town attorney that required further discussion.
On a motion by Selectman Representative Fran Shippee, seconded by Secretary Beverly Bernard, board members voted unanimously to cancel the public hearing scheduled for July 20 on proposed changes to Zoning Ordinance 207, the removal of Zoning Ordinance 408 and a proposed definition for a "Camping Unit" (CU). The motion carried with no discussion recorded.
The board had earlier noted that conceptual consultations are non‑binding and that no minutes are taken for those consultations. The meeting record lists Chairman Joe Brodbine, Vice Chair Maria Bissell, Secretary Beverly Bernard, member Mike Petrosh, Selectman Representative Fran Shippee, and Planning Board Secretary Ellen Stetson as present; James Hancock was recorded as absent.
Secretary Beverly Bernard moved to adjourn at 4:48 p.m.; Vice Chair Maria Bissell seconded. That motion also passed unanimously and the meeting was adjourned. The minutes were submitted by Planning Board Secretary Ellen Stetson. The board recorded that its next meeting will be Monday, July 20, 2026, at the Town Offices; the public hearing originally scheduled for that date was canceled during the July 13 meeting.
