Jacksonville Urban Renewal Agency approves minutes, records ballot election for president and vice-president

The Jacksonville Urban Renewal Agency met Jan. 6, 2026, at New City Hall and approved its June 17, 2025 meeting minutes before conducting secret-ballot elections for agency leadership.

President Casaleggio called the meeting to order at 7:38 p.m. and noted six directors present — Gregg, Hellenthal, Thompson, Jorgenson, Bowen and Casaleggio — with Director Reed listed as absent. Staff listed as present included Executive Director Alvis, Treasurer Bray (via Zoom), Treasurer Assistant Flenner and Secretary Angela Watson.

President Casaleggio asked for a motion to approve the June 17, 2025 minutes. Director Bowen moved to approve the minutes and Director Gregg seconded. The minutes record the vote as “Ayes (6): Directors Hellenthal, Jorgenson, Gregg, Bowen, Thompson, and President Casaleggio; Nays (0). Motion Carries Unanimously.”

The board then held secret-ballot elections. Secretary Watson collected and tallied ballots for agency president and vice-president. The minutes record the president-ballot entries as votes for President Casaleggio from Directors Jorgenson, Thompson, Bowen, Hellenthal and Gregg, and also include the line "Director Reed - President Casaleggio." The minutes explicitly state: "President Casaleggio voted as the 2026 Urban Renewal Agency President."

Ballots for vice-president were recorded in two groupings. The minutes list "Director Thompson - Directors Gregg and Bowen" and "Director Reed - Directors Thompson, Hellenthal, Jorgenson, and President Casaleggio."
