Jacksonville to raise water rates 20% in March after Medford Water Commission hike

"As of March 1st, the City of Jacksonville will increase its water usage rate by 20%, which should be an average of $4-5 per water bill," Alvis told councilors. Councilors asked specific questions about the increase and Alvis provided answers during the staff report.
City staff attributed the change to the larger rate adjustment by the Medford Water Commission; the council did not take a formal vote on the change at the Feb. 17 meeting, but the rate update was presented as an administrative action to be implemented in March. The council discussed the change during staff reports, and no public comment or formal motion on the rate increase was recorded in the minutes.
