The Select Board voted 4–0 to grant a one‑day special liquor license to Westborough Connects to serve alcohol at the third annual Connect at the Courts fundraiser on Aug. 30 at Nelson Ball Pickleball Courts. Organizer Kelly Petrella said the event will include a ticketed beer tent, wristbands, a hired police detail at ingress/egress points and coordination with the fire and police departments. Board members asked for roped‑off service areas and ID checks similar to the farmers market protocol; Petrella confirmed those controls and said the group will use ticketing and wristbands and has met with Chief Menardi to review the plan.
The board’s motion specified hours of service consistent with the application and required compliance with state and local laws.
