A scheduled call meeting was canceled after the Chair announced that the contract the council was to discuss and sign "has already been done," and the council had already approved an extension of its agreement with McGregor and Company.
The Chair read minutes showing "a motion was made by Council Member Prowse with a 2nd by Council Member Hartley to extend our current agreement with McGregor and Company for 4 more years to include physical years to 2024 through 2027," and reported the recorded vote as "8 approved and 0 denied." The Chair said the unanimous vote meant the agenda item had been settled before the call meeting.
The development meant the Chair would not call the meeting to order. "So it's not a bit of need to have a meeting, so I'm not gonna call it to order," the Chair said, apologizing to attendees for the late notice that the matter was already resolved.
When asked for timing details, a staff member identified as Mary said the accounting for the 2027 year would be completed in 2028. "The accounting for '27 will be done in '28," Mary said. The exchange included clarification that accounting for earlier years would follow the same schedule (for example, accounting for 2025 is done in 2026), as described by the Chair and Mary.
The Chair closed the short session by indicating no further business was needed and saying, "We'll see you at the next regular meeting."
