The staff summary lists new flooring, painting, cabinet installation and donation and installation of two pool tables among the project elements.
Councilmember Starr moved to ratify the donation, staff described the process and Treasurer Molina and others praised staff for the procurement and review. Councilmembers commended the staff initiative, and the vote to ratify the acceptance carried 7–0.
Why it matters: The donation combines monetary and in‑kind support to update a neighborhood recreation facility that serves seniors and other community members. Staff acknowledged they had already procured supplies with the store manager before returning to council for ratification and said the Home Depot Foundation can refund gift cards if the council declines acceptance.
The council directed staff to recognize the Home Depot Foundation and the local store for their contribution; no additional funding or contractual commitments were authorized at the meeting beyond acceptance of the donation.
