On the consent agenda the board also awarded ARPA‑funded sanitary lateral assistance contracts: MJD Excavating Inc. received the lowest responsive bid of $201,950 for Scott Street Phase 1 sanitary lateral assistance (up to 30 prequalified households) with award contingent on landowners not being required to annex to Newton Falls; Claunch & Sons Excavating LLC was awarded $24,650 for four qualified ARPA households for Scotch Street Phase 1, with the same annexation contingency. Both items passed unanimously when called by the clerk.
Commissioners noted the annexation contingency and asked staff to ensure landowner conditions are verified before contract execution. The board directed follow‑up actions to implement the programs under ARPA reporting requirements.
