Trumbull County commissioners approve 2027 alternate tax budget, contracts and personnel moves

The Trumbull County Board of Commissioners on July 22 adopted the county's alternate tax budget for the year beginning Jan. 1, 2027, and approved a series of contract awards, appointments and personnel moves.
Clerk read each item and commissioners voted unanimously to approve minutes, emergency minutes, bill payments, transfers and appropriations before adopting the alternate tax budget and directing the board president to sign and submit it to the Trumbull County Budget Commission.
Other approvals included awards and authorizations: a Donley Road street improvement contract to Frank Marticchio Asphalt and Paving Inc. for $235,865.60; selection of GPD Group Inc. for neighborhood planning services ($35,000); purchase of four used police interceptors for $37,500; and several permits and hauling authorizations for named contractors.
The board also approved personnel actions: the transfer of Jennifer Leonard from accounts payable clerk to accounting payroll office administrator effective Aug. 3, 2026; the transfer of Brian Flanagan to Building Inspector 3; acknowledgment of the retirement of custodian Michael Hamilton; and reappointments and removals on county boards, including the reappointment of Rhonda Bonebeck to the Trumbull County Metropolitan Housing Authority and the appointment of Emily Ward to the Trumbull County Mental Health and Recovery Board.
