Coquille SD 8 swears in two new directors, elects Marsha Cross as chair and confirms committees

The board also nominated and confirmed a vice chair by voice vote; the vice‑chair nominee’s first name (Marcia) was used in the discussion but a full surname was not recorded in the transcript.
The board appointed standing committees: the facilities committee will include Heather, Sharon and Steve; the policy committee was listed as Melinda, Marsha and Luke. The board agreed to hold a work session before the September meeting to review OSBA suggestions for revising the superintendent evaluation process; some members said they preferred to keep the current evaluation approach for one year to maintain continuity.
